Today, we are incredibly happy to share “Promises” with you, the new album by Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra. Available now wherever you listen.

What you are about to listen to has taken several years to create. It is one continuous piece of music in nine movements, 46 minutes long.

We would like to thank all of you who have pre-ordered the album. (We learned that thousands of records are stuck in shipping, and appreciate your patience). When your album arrives, you’ll notice a fantastic painting visible through the die cut. It is Julie Mehretu’s Congress. The painting is in the permanent collection at The Broad in Los Angeles, and Mehretu’s mid-career survey just opened at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.

Throughout this week there are a few exciting things happening. Today (Friday) our beloved public radio, NPR, is hosting a listening party at 2pm ET, and tomorrow (Saturday), Gilles Peterson will be playing the album in full on his show at BBC Radio 6 Music. If you live in town, you may also catch something in the local newspaper. Most importantly for us, “Promises” is finally available to you and everyone around the world.
